The Gallery:
The Minstrels Gallery measures 132 feet long, 26 feet and 6
inches high and it is lighted by five great bay windows. The
upper lights of which are filled with stained glass by
Thomas Willament, which traces the history of the Wyndhams
through arms and images from the 12th century down to the
Dunravens own day. This was put up in 1838 by Lord Dunraven
“in the love and honour of Caroline Wyndham his countess” as
the inscription of the west window proclaims. The window at
the east overlooks the beautiful River Maigue. |
