Killarney National Park
This protected park really is the heart of Killarney. At the centre lies the famous Lakes of Killarney with their banks rising up to Ireland's highest mountain range, The McGillycuddy Reeks. There are an abundance of walks, trails and cycle paths intertwined throughout the park and every corner turned is a new photo opportunity. There are a number of quaint thatched cottages where explorers can stop for tea and cake (seasonal). Optional extras in the Killarney National Park are Jaunting Car Rides (horse and cart), Boat Trips on the Lakes and Horse Riding.

Corran Tuathail
A visit to Killarney offers an ideal time to challenge yourself. Why not climb Ireland's highest mountain? Corran Tuathail stands 1038m (3406ft) high. The hotel will gladly take care of the arrangements if you'd like to include this in your stay. We recommend and book the best guides and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment to enjoy your climb. A basic level of fitness is required however we will ensure that the guide paces the climb to your comfort.

Muckross House & Gardens
Take a guided tour of this Victorian Manor House which was completed in 1843. Muckross House has been carefully preserved and visitors can step back in time as they wander through the ornately decorated rooms and corridors. Relax outside with a picnic and enjoy the beautifully manicured gardens that surround Muckross House.

Muckross Traditional Farms
The traditional farms are located next to Muckross House. The farms will transport you back to the 1930's. You'll become part of this full working farm experience and witness first hand how the daily tasks of thatching, baking and milling were performed before the introduction of electricity. The traditional farms are fully open May to September with limited opening times in March, April and October.

"The Gap Trip"...as it's referred to by the locals
This famous all-in-one day trip allows you to see a little bit of everything. You begin the trip at Kate Kearney's Cottage (c 1840's) and travel through a narrow winding road which passes between two mountains; this is known as The Gap of Dunloe. You can choose to do this part of the journey by foot, bicycle, horse-back or horse-cart. You will come to Lord Brandon's Cottage on the lake edge where most choose to take a short break for a bite to eat. Then let one of the local boatmen take you across the lakes, sharing Irish legends along the way, and you will get off at Ross Castle where you will be collected.

Ross Castle
This is a typical example of a stronghold of an Irish Chieftain during the Middle ages. Ross Castle is situated on the lake edge and is estimated to have been built in the 15th Century. Visitors can take a guided tour of this historic site and also enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Killarney National Park.

Inisfallen Island
The largest of a cluster of small islands on the Lakes of Killarney. Boat trips go out daily during the summer months. It is home to the ruins of Innisfallen Abbey, one of the most impressive archaeological remains dating from the early Christian period. The monastery was founded in 640 by St. Finian the Leper, and was occupied for approximately 850 years.
