Restaurant and Hotel Antico Forziere is a Countryside hotel Umbria. It is a XVII° century farmhouse regarded locally as an important piece of rural history. It is situated in Umbria, near Deruta, town world-famous for ceramic art, and very close to Assisi, Perugia, Todi and Spoleto.
Rodella family welcomes guests into this ancient building where huge beams, brick arches and wonderful views lend a special atmosphere. Garden with flowers and scents and the picturesque swimming pool overlook the wide Tiber River valley.
Use of the swimming pool and wellness SPA with Jacuzzi is exclusive for the guests of the house.
L’Antico Forziere welcomes guests in two suites each with its own entrance onto the garden, and six double rooms furnished with a great care of particulars. Each kind of room has private bathroom with hair dryer, safe, minibar, TV, telephone, free Wi-Fi connection, air conditioning, linen in the room and daily cleaning. Each one has also fine curtains and ceramics, exposed wooden beams and wrought iron beds. Suite have just one room on two levels with the double bed on a wood loft and at the ground floor the bathroom, a dining room with sofa bed for children and the door for the garden in the back side of the hotel.

On the outside walls can "read" the story of the building. Rodella family owns it since 2005. The twin brothers, Stefano and Andrea, are the chefs, parents are a bit 'all-rounders and Samuel manages the restaurant and reception with his wife. The restructuring of what was an old farmhouse began in 1998 and ended in 2000. It was inhabited until the late '50s by a large group of family farmers, . Its construction dates back to the early '600 and seems to have been commissioned by the church. It was built to give relief to horses and riders on the road leading to the Pope in Rome. The ground floor, the restaurant today, was once occupied by the stables. Clearly show the vaulted ceiling and the old stone foundations, now exposed. The floor was low, to keep the animals warm as possible. Upstairs, where today there are the reception and a cozy living room, there was the old "kitchen" and "dining room". Everything so along with rooms for riders upstairs identified the old house as a hotel in 1600.

The sauna allows you to relax both physically and mentally, to keep stress at bay and provides temporary escape from daily life. Having a sauna regularly, also helps eliminate toxins, enhances skin cell renewal and helps to maintain a fresh-looking, healthy, reinvigorated complexion.

This is a gentle sauna at a temperature of between 45°C and 55°C with relative humidity of 25%-35%. This programme allows you to enjoy a pleasant, refreshing sauna without extensive effort. This programme is also suitable as a substitute for the Finnish sauna.

The Roman Sauna operates at a temperature of between 60°C and 70°C and the relative humidity (RH) is approximately 20%-25%. It is effective and beneficial for blood circulation, helps to reduce muscle tension and stress, and induces intense sweating.

This is a traditional sauna, also referred to as a “dry sauna”, in which the temperature reaches between 80°C and 90°C, while the relative humidity (RH) is very low.

Hammam ritual creates a state of wellness, reducing the harmful effects of daily stress; it is enjoyable and beneficial at any time of the year, either in the winter to prevent discomfort related to the cold conditions and to provide relief to muscles, either in the summer, to lower body temperature, refreshing the body, and to provide a healthy glow (or enhancing this glow where already present), seeing as it thoroughly cleanses the skin. The hammam additionally stimulates the replenishment of water present within the body and keeps respiratory passages unobstructed by keeping them moist.the hammam also promotes vasodilation and consequently, improved skin nourishment. Sweating is intense, resulting in natural disintoxication of the body with the highest temperature (approximately 42 °C) and vapour pressure levels close to 100%.

It is between Torgiano, very famous for Lungarotti’s wine prodution where you can visit also the wine and oil museum, and Montefalco, worldwide area of production of “Sagrantino di Montefalco”. High quality oil makes our region proud and well known in the world and it is produced in many mills on the road for Spoleto and Spello you can visit on reservation.
Production and processing of cashmere is another excellence in our region. Most famous and important producer is absolutely Brunello Cucinelli in Solomeo (Perugia). For lovers of quality cashmere along the umbrian roads you can discover also a lot of outlet and shops like Luxury Cashmere in Ripabianca (Deruta). There are also Lamberto Losani in Magione, Chimar in Taverne di Corciano, Fabiana Filippi in Giano dell'Umbria, Zanieri and Ima Cashmere in Torgiano. There's also a very famous outlet of the Caprai group Cruciani Cashmere close to Spoleto.
First artistic installations in Deruta surely were favoured by an easy availability of argil, raw material in ceramic processing. It was on derutians hills, where still was extracted in the early decades of past century, and on the surroundings, included the alluvial deposits of river Tevere exploited up to fifty years ago.
