Visit the Pyramids of the Zone. Very peculiar stone formations
that may
be reminiscent of American canyons, though on a much
smaller scale. The large rocks have been left by
glaciers in remote times and when the glaciers
receded, rains started eroding the surrounding
ground and forming the shapes of today. To get there,
start with the small town of Marone. There turning
to the right and driving uphill to Zone ( 20 minutes
drive from the hotel), follow the road leading to
the small church of San Giorgio di Cislano. Leave the
car at the carpark and take the trail that starts
behind the church. It’s a one-hour easy walk, immersed in greenery and passes around the
Pyramids before joining the road again and from
below it affords an impressive view of them.

ABOUT THE AREA |
|
|
Lake Iseo is the
fourth largest lake in the Lombardy region of Italy,
situated just north of Brescia and Bergamo. A local ferry
service navigates Lake Iseo
regularly during the summer, making
day trips to resorts around the lake
pleasant and easy. Situated to
the south of the resort centre, the
Sassabanek Lido offers open-air
swimming pools, lake bathing and
also canoeing, pedaloes, windsurfing,
tennis courts and a snack bar. Lake-fishing
is also a popular activity on Iseo |

When in
this area, you should visit Montesola, the pearl
island of Lake Iseo. Ferry shuttle connections with the island are in
place 5 minutes drive from the hotel, as frequent as every quarter
of an hour. Montisola is the largest of the lake- islands of
Europe, with a perimeter of approximately 9 km and
the highest point at 600 m above sea level. On its
rocky top sits the church of Madonna della Ceriola,
visible from any vantage point of the Iseo lake.
Montisola is a place with a feeling for things
past, dotted with rustic hamlets, vineyards and
olive trees. Its cultural heritage is worth having a
look at, but the athmosphere of serenity it conveys
to all visitors is in general the acknowledged
winner.
Other places to
visit:
...There
are plenty of leisure destinations which
the hotel staff can readily make available to its
guests, for both the Iseo lake region or for places
a little more distant but equally memorable. You can
also combine Lake Iseo with Lake
Garda, Venice, Verona or Caorle
