"We vacationed back in 2000 and thought it was a fantastic place and would definitely come back again!! It´s very romantic and magical. Rooms are large and the wine is delightful! Would highly recommend!!"

"Our stay at castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg was outstanding. The setting was beautiful, the service excellent, and the food delicious. We had planned to eat at the hotel only one night during our stay, but ended up eating there all three nights. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a get-away weekend. It is a little quiet, so not the place for people looking for lots of activities or music."

"Castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg is absolutely fantastic. This place is just magical. The staff is courteous and helpful with typical German efficiency (I have special respect for the poor bellman who transported our luggage from our car to our tower room with a smile). This is the "Princess Bride" castle come to life, and it is a once in a lifetime experience. The meals were excellent and every room has a fairytale view. The town below is historic and worth taking time to explore and this is a good central location for a driving tour of the Rhine Valleys many other castles. Believe it or not, the brochure doesn´t do this place justice. It´s even better in person. My wife and I just wandered around the grounds in awe. Keep in mind that this is not some kind of cheesy Disney getaway -- it does not have 24 hour room service or a waterslide. Instead it is an authentic medieval castle, beautifully restored, with many modern touches. We recommend this to any couples with good taste that are looking for something different."

"We visited Castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg in May of 2008. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly, the food is spectacular, and the service is beyond expectations. This alone made it an amazing stay. Shortly after check in we met our tour guide who took us on a tour of his vineyard. He also provides many tidbits about the area. We so enjoyed the wine tasting and experience. If you are looking for lasting memories - include Castle Hotel auf Schoenburg in your travel plans."

"We could only stay there one night as they were fully committed the rest of the weekend with a Medieval Festival. The town of Oberwesel was very charming and we loved it.
We did the special chefs dinner and, to our delight, it was asparagus season. The chef had a fantastic spargel menu and we enjoyed it very, very much. Although everything about the hotel is elaborate, the service really is so personal that guests dont feel any pressure. It was like staying with warm, kind relatives who let you do your own thing.
Our room is featured in their brochures (the one with the hidden door to the bath) and it was spectacular. The views were breathtaking and the room itself was very spacious and comfortable with a terrific balcony and a very nice cross-breeze.
We would have LOVED to spend more time there but it wasn’t an option. The hotel was all that we could have hoped for and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place with luxurious amenities."

"We had stayed and Castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg several times five years ago, and were very pleased that the hotel is as good as it always was. We had the added pleasure that the weather was good and we could dine outside on the terrace with that wonderful view of the river. The service at Schoenburg was excellent, and the setting could not be better. We will be back next year."

"Our stay at Castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg was very relaxing. Unfortunately, we stayed in March when the weather was not the best. Also, it seems we stayed during a weekend when nothing was open in the outlying area and neighboring towns. We wanted to take a cruise on the Rhine River, but once again the weather was not the best.
The reason for our stay was my wife´s birthday. I wanted to take her to a castle for a romantic getaway. The Catle Schoenburg had all the potential, but I was naive to think the weather would cooperate. If we were to return during the summer, I would have no regrets.
One suggestion that I think would help is the packaging of a weekend getaway for couples. Also, I think many companies would love the idea of retreating to a castle for seminars and other business meetings."

"I stayed at the above hotel for 3 days and enjoyed my stay immensely. The grounds, room and restaurant were all outstanding. My room which overlooked the Rhein, was beautifully decorated and very clean with numerous fine touches. We enjoyed evening meals on two evenings, where the food, wine, service and presentation were excellent. I found the outdoor terraces very pleasant areas for an afternoon coffee or a glass of wine. The hotel has many little nooks to sit and enjoy the quiet or the views of the Rhein and the valley and despite numerous visitors and hotel guests it was easy to find a quiet beautiful spot to relax. In the evening there are numerous cosy sitting areas to enjoy a book, conversation or a good port. I have no criticism of any aspect of the hotel service; all requests were dealt with promptly and courteously. All the staff, not just the managers were pleasant and efficient, and were always happy to assist. I would certainly return to Schoenburg in the future when visiting the area."
