The Balcon de Europa is unique
and breathtaking in its views, the name of the hotel means “Europe’s
Balcony”, it was the name given to this location by a Spanish king after
feeling astonished with the fabulous view. And the Balcon de Europa was built in
that very same location in 1966 and later rebuilt 10 years later and
refurbished thereafter several times. Today the Balcon de Europa
is the prima donna of the hotels in Nerja; sixty of its 110 rooms
overlook directly to the sea, the other 50, cheaper of course, look over
the town of Nerja. The staff of the Balcon de Europa creates a warm and
friendly welcome. Due to its location built into the rock face of the
“Balcon de Europa,” the Hotel's main entrance is via the 6th floor, thus
allowing direct access from the hotel to its “private” beach, which
cannot be accessed any other way. At beach level is one of the two hotel
restaurants where you can enjoy a delightful lunch right in front of the
Mediterranean; this restaurant is open only for lunch. There is an
elegant restaurant located on the 4th floor that opens for dinner.
A peaceful and exclusive atmosphere pervades the Balcon de Europa; the
public areas are spacious and tastefully decorated. Every room is
impeccable and equipped with all modern comfort, many of the ones with
sea view, have a balcony, others simply a window overlooking the
Mediterranean. The Balcon de Europa is definitively a precious gem reasonably
priced, which is even more so, when you opt for reserving on half board
rate or even better, full board, which includes the room an all meals.
