The
legendary thoroughbred stallion, Oleander, lends its
name to the Bar at Brenner’s. The Oleander-Bar represents the heart of the Brenner’s hotel: men of the
turf talk shop during race week, house guests use the
bar to take their aperitifs and locals simply stop by
for a drink or cocktail. Long drinks and cocktails
prepared by our barman are always well received. The
mood is always enjoyable allowing guests to relax and
unwind with the pianist tickling the ivories in the
background.

ABOUT THE REGION |
 |
While in the area, it is well worth visiting one of the many
palaces, gardens, castles or monasteries located nearby, such as "Schloss
Favourite" in Rastatt.
Those with an interest in the history of Baden-Baden should not miss a visit to
the newly opened City Museum. Also the Museum of Ancient Bathing Culture, with
its Roman bath ruins, constitutes to being one of the town's most important
remains.
Thanks to the central position of Baden-Baden, guests are in
easy reach of some of Europe's most beautiful cities: the French town of
Strasbourg, the wonderful student town of
Freiburg and legendary city of
Heidelberg, with its picturesque "Altstadt".
Freiburg, is the sunny capital of the Black Forest, close
to the French and Swiss borders, in the midst of a unique
landscape. The small settlement on the site of today’s southern old town and
Oberlinden was chartered as a free market town by Konrad and Duke Bertold III in
1120. The market rights, the favourable location and the silver mines in the Black
Forest soon led Freiburg to grow into a prosperous and influential city. In
1200, Bertold V initiated the construction of a new, large parish church,
Freiburg Cathedral. The citizens of Freiburg later took on the financial
responsibility for building the Cathedral, which was completed as early as 1513
- making it the only German cathedral to be completed in the Gothic style.
Heidelberg is a charming city. Steeped in tradition, this
town is home to seemingly contrasting worlds. This makes it exciting and keeps
it young at heart. Take some time to get to know the city and discover its many
facets. You‘ll be inspired. The name stands for the world-famous Castle and a
picturesque Old Town in breathtakingly beautiful surroundings. It stands
both for Germany's oldest university and modern research facilities. For
historic streets and a lively university atmosphere. For total
relaxation and beautiful walks, plus stimulating international
conferences and festivals. It also stands for the longest and one of the
most attractive pedestrian zones in Europe.
