Airport service: Nuremberg Airport is the closest airport, and about 60 miles (100km) away. Please allow for sufficient time to travel to the airport. Alternatively, why not let the Hotel take care of things and organize your journey?
Breakfast: Served in the Winter Garden from 7am to 10am. If you would like breakfast served to your room, or at an earlier or later time, no problem at all. Just let the Hotel know in advance.
Car care and maintenance: Looking for a car wash? Need to get your car serviced? No problem. Garages catering for most car brands are within easy distance.
Car parking: Free car parking for hotel guest is available at the bottom of Castle Hill (40 slots). An additional car park is located at the GedankenGebäude.
Castle grounds: Give yourself a break, take a walk and explore the castle grounds, following the path along the medieval moat. Worth a stroll at any time of the year.
Checking in/out: Your room will be ready from 3pm on the day of your arrival. Please make sure you vacate your room by 11am on the day of departure. Conference attendees staying overnight may check in and out at the GedankenGebäude.

Credit and debit cards: The Hotel accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, as well as debit cards.
Cycling: The Oberpfalz forest is Cycling Paradise Central. The Hotel is happy to help you choose the most scenic routes, provide you with maps and descriptions, and also arrange bike hire if you didn’t bring your own.
Departure: Please make sure you vacate the room by 11 am on the day of departure. If you would like to check out at a later time, please speak to the reception team who will be happy to arrange for this.
Doctor: If you need medical attention or would like to consult a GP, a list with all general practitioners based in Wernberg-Köblitz is available from Reception. The Hotel is glad to help you make an appointment.
Dogs: Dogs are very welcome at Wernberg Castle. However, please bear in mind that your pet is not allowed in the restaurants, bars, and any area where food is served.
Emergency: In case of emergency, call 131. Please stay calm, and make sure you follow the instructions displayed on the safety signs in your room as well as the directions given by responders or staff.
Flowers and floral arrangements: Please get in touch with the Reception team who will forward your order to the local florist.
Gala dinners, conventions, conferences, events and occasions: The hotel catering team provides delicious food for conferences and conventions with up to 200 attendees, and organizes gala dinners for up to 90 people.
GedankenGebäude: The GedankenGebäude is one of the most advanced conference buildings in Germany. Designed by Milan-based design guru Michele di Lucchi, the light-flooded glass and timber structure offers a panorama view of the countryside. And the interior is equally impressive, featuring mobile room dividers, state-of-the-art presentation technology and many other gadgets that make the centre the number one venue for conferences at almost any scale.
Golf: With a course layout by US Open winner Jerry Pate and Reinhold Weishaupt, Schwanhof golf club offers excellent fairways, greens and training facilities for amateur and pro golfers alike. It’s not for nothing that the 18-hole championship course has become part of the international tournament circuit. The club also helps you out if you need any hire equipment (except shoes).
Gourmet restaurant: Offering world class dining.
Hair stylist: Thinking about a new hair style? A beautiful up-do for that big party or gala? The Hotel helps make an appointment at the nearby hair salon or, if you like, arrange for one of the in-house stylists to attend to you.
Hiking and walking: When it comes to hiking and walking the Oberpfalz countryside surrounding Wernberg-Köblitz offers a plethora of scenic routes, nature trails and bridleways to choose from. Moreover, the Reception team knows their way around this part of the world, and is happy to point out some of the “gems”.
Inner courtyard: Weather permitting, a selection of traditional regional food and a variety of international dishes is served al fresco in the inner courtyard.
Jogging: Love your jogging/running? The scenery of the castle grounds and the surrounding countryside makes your mileage even more enjoyable. There are numerous routes you can explore.
Laundry services: Hand over your laundry before 9am, and you’ll get it back fresh and clean on the same day. Seven days a week. Clothing items handed in between 9am and 12 (noon) will have to be express cleaned which incurs a surcharge. Laundry handed over after 12 (noon) will be cleaned and returned on the following day.
Limousine service: Sometimes you need to go the whole nine yards to make everything perfect. Including the appropriate “ride”. If this is one of those occasions, the Hotel will arrange for a limousine service.
Luggage: Needless to say that the Hotel will take care of the transport and storage of your luggage.
Lounge: The Castle Bar & Lounge is open from 6pm to 1 am. Shaken or stirred?
Lost property: Lost something? Found something? Please contact Reception.
Mail: Need to send a letter? Hand it over at the reception desk, and the Hotel will post it for you.
Massage: Treat yourself to a relaxing and refreshing body massage. The Hotel is happy to arrange a session for you.
Newspapers: Still prefer to read “hard copy”? Copies of a selection of the latest newspapers are available in the lobby. For more papers and magazines just ask at Reception.
Pharmacy emergency supply services: The opening hours of pharmacies located in Wernberg-Köblitz are available from Reception. The Hotel also arranges for a driver who will pick up your medication if necessary.
Power supply: Germany’s mains supply voltage is 220 v AC. If you didn’t bring a travel adapter, don’t worry. Reception will provide you with an adapter as well as an 110 V converter.
Public transport: Regional train services run from Wernberg-Köblitz to both Regensburg and Nuremberg.
Room service: For room service between 7am to midnight, please dial 161 on your room phone. After midnight, please, ring 131. By the way, you’ll find a copy of all breakfast and full menu cards in your room.
Safe deposit box: All the rooms feature a safe deposit box. Larger boxes are available upon request.
Shoes: Place your shoes outside your room in the evening, and the Hotel will get them cleaned and shined overnight.
St George Chapel: It’s history reaches back to 1406 AD. The castle chapel was erected by Heinrich Nothaft of Wernberg and is dedicated to St George. And the chapel’s Black Madonna is most definitely worth seeing.
Swimming: The Weidener Thermenwelt Aquatics Centre is only a 15 min drive away. It features indoor pools, spas, and sauna and restaurant facilities. During the sunny summer months, the Monte Kaolino Outdoor Leisure Centre located in Hirschau is one of the region’s most popular venues.
Theatre, Plays and Opera: Play and opera lovers won’t miss out. The region is renowned for hosting a wide variety of performing arts. All the latest information about what’s on where and when is available from Reception. And the Hotel is more than happy to book your tickets.
Toiletries: Forgotten your toothbrush? Any other item? No problem. Just call Reception on extension 131, and the hotel staff will get it for you.
Umbrellas: Hopefully they won’t be needed. But if you do, they are available in the lobby. Help yourself.
