OTHER THINGS TO DO |
|
A multitude of interesting places lie
in the vicinity of Caminino.

There are Etruscan and Roman archeological sites, the most important
of which (Roselle, the Crypt of S. Salvatore a Giuniano, Vetulonia
and S.Galgano) all are within a 40-minute drive.
There are plenty of medieval towns, including Sovana, Massa
Marittima, Pitigliano and many more. The National Nature Park of
Uccellina is 30 minutes away; and nearby are the Oasis of Lake
Buriano, Mount Amiata, several thermal baths (among which the world-famous
Terme di Saturnia) or beaches (some of Tuscany's best shores are
only 20 miles away). |

About Caminino |
|

The small hamlet
of Caminino lies within the walls of an ancient abbey dating back to
the 11th century. Located on a hillside resembling a large natural
amphitheater sloping lazily towards the plains below, it offers
stunning views ofthe sea or the island of Giglio.
In the heart of Tuscany’s WildWest, La Maremma, Caminino is
surrounded by history, artsand traditions from bygone times. Since
1873, the Locatelli-Marrucchi family have worked this olive grove,
which is one of the most beautiful in Maremma; you’ll certainly want
to buy some of the extra virgin oil they produce. |
