Castell d'EmpordĂ provides a unique base for enjoying rich Catalan
culture and having a restful and luxurious stay in an 800 year old
castle. Located on top of a massif, the Puig dEn Marenys, between the
Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, the castle once belonged to Pere
Margarit, a captain who served under Christopher Columbus, and it was
carefully and authentically restored as a stylish, unforgettable hotel.
Each room of Castell d'Emporda has its own style and atmosphere and from
every room the view over the green and rolling landscape is spectacular.
The restaurant is of very high quality, yet not stuffy or formal, with
dishes made from produce from the Castle's garden or the neighbouring
farms and markets or from nearby fishing villages. The Mediterranean is
15 minutes away, or you may enjoy a swim in the castle's own swimming
pool. There are five golf courses in the immediate vicinity of Castell
d'Emporda. From skiing and climbing to sailing and deep sea diving,
everything is possible using the Castle as a base. Suite Castillo is
located inside the Castle, Suite Garden has a balcony, Suite Pere
Margarit is the principal room, and Tower room has a shower. All rooms of
Castell d'Emporda have one double bed. If you require a twin room please
specify this when you reserve. There are no twin rooms available in the
