A stay in Montebenichi, in Tuscany, for an out-of-time vacation living in the houses which hosted the people of this ancient and noble land. This hamlet, formerly a citadel, perched atop a hill of Chianti, offers breathtaking views as far as the eye can see. The Castelletto has only nine rooms: three Classic Rooms, two De Luxe Rooms, three Jr Suites and one Minisuite, where period pieces and modern furniture are finely combined. The minisuite is in the outbuilding at close distance. Each room has an individual personality, with a special style and atmosphere. All rooms have comforts such as en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, telephone, satellite tv, dvd player, fridge and safe. All the rooms have air conditioning.
Entrance from a staircase overlooking the square. The living room has a kitchen and a dining corner. The kitchen is equipped, besides common crockery and cutlery, by a gas cooker, electric and microwave ovens, dish washer, fridge and freezer. The living room has a sofa bed for single use. Upstairs the bedroom has a king sized bed, a window overlooking the square and two skylights. The bathroom has a bathtub with a shower and a courtesy set. The apartment is autonomous as regards of heating and air conditioning. Washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board are located in a room of the garden of the Castelletto.
Entrance from via del Fosso, at the back of the Castelletto. The apartment is located at the ground floor/mezzanine at the rear of the Castelletto. At a few steps from the entrance lead to the kitchen-dining room. It is equipped, besides common crockery and cutlery, by an induction cooker, microwave oven, dish washer, fridge and freezer. The living room has a sofa bed for single use. Four steps lead to the bedroom with double bed. All the windows look West with a view over the valley. The bathroom has a bathtub with a shower and a courtesy set. The apartment is autonomous as regards of heating and air conditioning. Washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board are located in a room of the garden of the Castelletto.

From montebenichi, chianti road tracks wind around woods, olive groves and vineyards and take you to medieval villages and imposing castles.
Along the roads wineries that offer guided tours with tasting of wine, oil and other local produce. if you are wine enthusiasts, why not to travel south west to montalcino, a well-known area for its important brunello wine, or south east to montepulciano where it is possible to taste the no less well known vino nobile?
With an easy drive you can reach many cities of art such as siena, arezzo, san gimignano, volterra, monteriggioni and cortona.
Slightly south of montebenichi, the "val d'orcia" and the land of the "crete senesi" offer extraordinary, unique views.
In about an hour you can reach florence, or, in umbria, perugia, assisi and orvieto

You have to have your own transport to reach Montebenichi as there is no public transportation. A taxi may be an expensive alternative. The nearest railway stations are Arezzo and Montevarchi (about half an hour away by car).

- From the North: highway A1 exit at Valdarno (the second after Firenze Sud). Drive in the direction of Montevarchi-Levane-Bucine. At the Levane traffic light, carry on for Siena-Bucine-Ambra and once past Bucine, carry on for about 15 km, passing by the villages of Capannole, Ambra and Pietraviva. About one km after Pietraviva there are directions to the right for Montebenichi, which is at the top of the hill, another 4 km further on. Carry on to the end of the asphalted road, going past the hotel park's gates on the left and drive into the square in the town where the hotel is located.
- Another route from the North: (more panoramic) is to come off the Highway A1 at Impruneta, carry on the Florence-Siena state road and then continue towards Arezzo-Perugia (SS 326 on the Siena-Bettolle link road) once you have reached Siena. Exit at Colonna del Grillo after about 18 km and then follow the directions for Bucine (SS540). You will find directions for Montebenichi after about 4 km on the left. The hotel is in the small square in the village center.
- From the south: highway A1 exit Valdichiana. Drive in the direction of Siena (SS326 on the Bettolle-Siena link road) and carry on for about 30 km until you pass the exit for Rapolano Terme. Exit at Colonna del Grillo after about 4 km and then follow the directions for Bucine (SS540). You will find directions for Montebenichi after about 4 km on the left. The hotel is in the small square in the village center.
The stations at Siena and Bucine are on minor railway lines and do not have trains passing through so frequently.
You can catch a train that stops at the stations of Florence (70 km) or Orvieto (80 km) or Montevarchi (32 km) or Arezzo (40 km). From there it is possible to reach the Castelletto di Montebenichi by a rented car or a taxi.
It is easy however to travel to Siena from Milan or Rome by coach.
The nearest airport is Florence (about an hour away by car). It is also possible to use Pisa airport (about two hours by car) and Rome (about two and a half hours away by car).
