Ötzi Club
So the kids have time
and opportunity for super adventures: making a snowman,
snowball fights, a great sleigh ride, the first attempts at
skiing, climbing into tree houses, panning for gold, damming
a stream or going on a mystery tour. Kids have their own
ideas about what makes up a successful holiday. The
“Ötziclub” makes holiday dreams come true for three to
14-year-olds. Adventure-based learning trainers have lots of
time and super ideas. The children’s eyes are aglow when
they fall into bed, tired but happy. |

Venezia Water World
Thrill to the flair of Venice is Sölden: immerse yourself in
the wonderful Venezia Water World, enjoy the feeling of
contentment and charge your batteries in its grottoes, steam
baths, experience pools and saunas. The famous Italian city,
with its lagoons, gothic windows, Moorish portals and
beautiful squares provided the theme for our wellness
department, which extends over three floors. There is even a
real gondola in the pool, waiting for the hour of romance.

Fitness
One third of our used air never leaves the body. So we
breathe in one third less air that is rich in oxygen. Using
specific, active breathing exercises, we bring the full
volume of used air out of the body, so that we can use the
whole breathing volume at our disposal and really fill our
lungs properly again.

Wine cellar
Winegrowing and drinking wine are part of our culture. It
takes a lot of expertise and hard work before fine grapes
produce wine and the precious liquid is stored in bottles.
Wine lovers enjoy the fascinating attraction of old, dusty
bottles and their faded labels. The Central is ideal for
celebrating special occasions; our sommelier Martin Sperdin
will gladly advise you on the choice of wine!
Our range includes wines and spirits from Austria, Italy,
Spain, California, South Africa, Chile and Australia.

Timmelsjoch, 2.500 m
The trip over the 2,509 m high Timmelsjoch pass, through the
Ötztal glalciers into the South Tyrolean vineyards of the
Passeier valley to Meran and further south will remain an
unforgettable experience.
The "secret gap" in the Alps or the direct route south takes
in the loveliest areas of North and South Tyrol. With lots
of places to make a stop and enjoy the views.
Gaislachkogl ski lift, 3.058 m
The Gaislachkogl ski lift is the largest and most modern
twin cableway in the world, running in two sections from
1,377 m to 3,041 m. It features a wonderful panorama
restaurant and sunny terrace at the top (3,041 m) with a
breath-taking all-round view of the mountains and glaciers
of the Ötztal und Stubai Alps as far as the southern
Tyrolean Dolomites and Ortler range.

Glacier road, 1.377 - 2.800 m
The Ötztal glacier road is one of the highest roads in the
eastern Alps, with a length of 15 km from Sölden (1,377 m)
to the ski areas of the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers,
going up to over 2,800 m. At every turn in the road, a new,
breath-taking vista opens up. The 1.7 km glacier tunnel
(named after Rosi Mittermaier), is the highest road tunnel
in the Alps and connects the two ski areas at a height of
2,800 m. The road and the tunnel have two lanes throughout,
with an average gradient of 11%, so may be driven by all
vehicles, including coaches, without any problems. However,
it is advisable to bring snow chains in the autumn months,
as there may be snowfall at these heights in the Alps.
Display of minerals (Berghof Silbertal)
Finds from “Granaten Yeti” – Ötztal’s most dedicated
collector of minerals – and other precious stones from all
over the world are exhibited here. Every Monday, mineral
lovers have the chance of buying exhibits and meeting
Granaten Yeti.
Vent, the mountaineers’ village, 1,900 m
Dominated by Tyrol’s highest mountain, the Wildspitze, 3,774
m. The Rofenhöfe are the highest permanent settlements in
the eastern Alps, with their 46 m long suspension bridge
over the 31 m deep Rofner gorge. See the famous Haflinger
horse stud farm or the place where “Ötzi” was found on the
Tiesenjoch, at 3,200 m.
Badeseum (Umhausen)
The Umhausen natural swimming area is on the way to the
Stuiben waterfalls, near the Ötzi Iceman village, and has
been set up in an ecological way. It is a recreation area
for young and old in summer and winter. (The Umhausen
Badeseum is a partner company of Regio Card and Ötztal Card)
Piburg lake (Ötz)
A natural lake, the biggest in the valley and the warmest in
Tyrol. Also known as the “mirror of the mountains”, as the
surrounding mountain giants are beautifully reflected in its
deep blue water.
Tower museum (Ötz)
The tower museum delights with constructional details from
the Romanesque to the modern. The museum mainly features
pictures.
Plague chapel (Längenfeld)
About twenty minutes’ walk from the village centre. The
newly renovated chapel from the 17th century commemorates
how Ötztal recovered from the plague. Concerts are held here
in summer. |
