Hotel Certosa di San Giacomo
built between 1197 and 1209 at Lauro, a medieval small town in Avellino
province, became soon a place of agricultural production very famous for
the quality of its products, and a place of spiritual refuge. In 1620 it
became an Abbey and in the following century it had a new splendour
thanks to a complete remake. By the laws of 1808 about the confiscation
of Church property, the “Certosa” is transformed in a magnificent
country residence. Today a careful remaking has given it new life
transforming it in an ideal place for meetings, ceremonies, and weekends
into full contact with nature. The “Certosa” is situated in a strategic
position at a few hundred metres from the storical centre of Lauro,
dominated by the imposing castle of Lancellotti princes, at a few
kilometres from Naples and Avellino. The 35 spacious rooms and 10
suites, are very well refined with most modern comforts that today
characterise a four stars hotel. The “Certosa” complex offers also an
equipped Congress Centre with halls that are able to accommodate
meetings from 10 to 1.000 people and a nice outdoor swimmingpool for the
guests. |
