The Hotel Certosa di Maggiano, built in 1314 as a place designed for
meditation and praying, is located in the countryside
immediately outside Siena, at just 2 kilometers from the famous Piazza del
Campo.
In 1975 the
Certosa di Maggiano was transformed into a deluxe hotel and offers its
guests a variety of thoughtfully appointed spaces in which to spend
different moments of the day.
The 17 rooms and suites,
corresponding to what were seventeen monastic cells, are situated on
three floors and equipped with deluxe equipment. They feature panoramic views
of Siena.
The hotel has a restaurant named "Il Canto", which takes the name from one
of the centuries' old farms where guests can enjoy
a wide selection of Italian specialities is offered according to season and
joined by a careful selection of
italian wines,
particularly Tuscan red wines. |
