Chateau de Chissay, in the
shade of the castle of Chenonceau, old royal residence, is a stone poem
in the heart of the Loire Valley. The park and surrounding wood are an
ideal place of stay to discover in this soft France the castles of
Chambord, Blois, Amboise and Touraine.
Rooms overlook the park, the swimming pool or the 15th-century courtyard.
Rooms and apartments comfortable and functional are furnished in the
XIXth century style. The bathrooms are decorated with mosaics to the
effigy of the characters of the French history that marked the history
of this place.
Chateau de Chissay was occupied by German troops. Renovated in 1986, the
buildings are representative of the whole span of Touraine architecture.
Set in the midst of pleasant countryside, Chissay resembles one of the
chateaux that decorate the Book of Hours of the Duke of Berry. Chateau
de Chissay is the ideal place from which to discover the marvels of the
Loire Valley. The dinners are organized in the room of the guards or the
Gothic room, more intimate for the quiet evenings. The table and the wines
are of regional inspiration. |
