Château de Montcaud is one of
the few chateaux that exist in the Provence - Cote d’Azur region. A
nineteen century building which had been abandoned for over 15 years
until its present owner M. Rudy Baur, purchased it in 1990 and made it
into a wonderful chateau-hotel. He refurbished all the rooms, putting a
full bathroom in each with all the modern comfort, plus air conditioning
in every one. Château de Montcaud maintains the same senorial style it
had in the past century. It is situated on 5 hectares of its own
parkland with the most absolute pure verdure. Here only the noise of the
ducks and frogs in the pond can be heard.
One of the highlights of Chateau Montcaud, in addition to its cordial
staff and a restaurant where you can dine gourmet in an open patio by
the herbarium of the chateau, is the Jazz brunch they serve every Sunday
on the front garden of Le Mass (the out building of the chateau) from 12
noon to 2:30 p.m. Where a group of seven live musicians play real jazz
blues while you eat a wonderful buffet... They even put a piano right on
the grass!. |
