The magnificent historic city of Amboise is just 5 minutes from our hotel. Crossed by the Loire, the town charmed many French sovereigns who furnished and gradually extended the stunning royal fortress. While it was Charles VIII who undertook the most beautiful constructions, François I is probably the most famous king to have lived in the castle. It was he who invited Leonardo da Vinci to stay in the Clos Lucé, near the fortress, associating both of their names with the city of Amboise for evermore.
When you visit the royal castle, enjoy the magnificent gardens that surround it. You will also discover the Naples terrace and its three belvederes, the landscaped gardens and the Oriental garden. To extend this pleasant walk, head to Chanteloup castle, at the top of the town, to view a surprising curiosity: the 44-metre-tall pagoda that dominates the park.
During your stay at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to enjoy many walks around Amboise to discover all its riches. On Sunday mornings you can enjoy the delightful atmosphere of the market, which is one of the biggest in the region. You can also take in the sights on a boat trip or even visit the Grand Aquarium de Touraine.
