Chateau La Chenevière is an
18th century château situated between Omaha Beach, where the American
forces landed on D-Day 1944, and the historic town of Bayeux famous for
its tapestry depicting the Conquest of England by William the Conqueror
in 1066. Due to its exceptional location in the heart of Normandy,
nestled cosily in an English style park, la Chenevière offers a great
variety of historic attractions, as well as leisure and sports
activities. Chateau La Chenevière stands elegantly in its own parkland of
mature trees, embracing the graceful mannerisms of a by gone era and the
warmth of an English country house. Situated close to the D-Day Landing
Beaches, la Chenevière is only 2 hours away from Paris (to Bayeux) by
direct train, close to Honfleur and Deauville (1 hour) and to the Mont
St Michel (1h30min).
There are only twenty nine rooms each with a garden view and all individually
decorated in a harmony of floral designs.
Some rooms and a lounge have
been recently refurbished.The luxurious facilities will appeal to the
most fastidious traveler. Relaxed indulgence is assured.
The beautiful Golf course of Omaha Beach, just five minutes away from
the hotel, is now 36 holes and at La Cheneviere we have special rates
for our guests.
The dining room with its picture windows overlooking the park has a
certain grandeur but on a more intimate scale. The gastronomic
restaurant is renowned for its French cuisine; the menu offers
mouth-watering dishes, cooked with our finest ingredients fresh from the
market and our kitchen garden, brimming with the aromas of our Norman
produce accompanied by many fine wines.
