The Colombi, which is situated on the outskirts of the picturesque old part of Freiburg,

In 1775, at the age of 26, Count Antonio de Colombi y Payet, born in Bossa, a town close to Gerona in Spain, founded a prosperous business in St. Petersburg, with wines and colonial products. He expanded it to an internationally renowned company. The name of Colombi therefore has been associated very early with delightful living. At the same time, he is the consul general of the Spanish government.
Due to his great reputation Czar Alexander I gives him and his business exceptional privileges. In 1808, at the age of 60, Count Colombi fell in love with the 27-year-old baron’s daughter of Bode and married her in St. Petersburg.
Their daughter, Maria Gertrudis Antonia Countess of Zea Bermudez Colombi, builds in 1858 - on the highest point of the Colombi Park - a Spanish style castle and gives it her name. It miraculously withstands unharmed all the troubles of the upcoming wars.

One can explore a city, discover the city or conquer the city. Freiburg should be felt. It is the unique interaction of political, economic, geographic, demographic and mental factors which determine the character of this city.
A traditional city with 900 years of history. A magical city with winding small alleys, picturesque courtyards, unique façades of houses, numerous architectural monuments and sights. And the famous "Bächle".
At the same time, it is a modern scientific location with several colleges, the Albert-Ludwigs-University and an idyllic city center with large shopping centers and small individual stores. The Mediterranean flair, the down-to-earth coziness and hospitality of the people and the pulsation of a cosmopolitan university town come together and unite to the unique Freiburg spirit..
Freiburg is a true cultural city. The theater is the centerpiece of the urban stage scenery.
Renowned orchestras such as the "Freiburger Barockorchester" are at home here
and there is a lively scene of bands which you may listen to on the stages of clubs and pubs. There is no evening without any music event in Freiburg.
The Freiburg museum landscape covers every branch from early history to modern art.
Even the traditional carneval "Fasnet" has its own house and if you to the “Schauinsland” you may visit the museum mine.
In 2005 the entrepeneur and art collector Jürgen A. Messmer founded the Messmer foundation. The non-Profit foundation is responsible for the Exhibition hall Messmer, which opened its doors in 2009 in the historic Building of the former Riegeler brewery Close to Freiburg. The Hans-Thoma-Stube is panelled in light, antique spruce, and was originally the parlour in a farmhouse dating back to 1776. It was named in memory of the Black Forest painter and sculptor Hans Thoma. As in the Falkenstube, here too a stove provides the necessary warmth in winter - and a delightful ambience all year round.
In former times the Falkenstube was a very well known wine tavern in Freiburg. In the early 80s of the last century the furnishings and wood paneling were integrated in the Colombi. The walls, panelled with dark stained oak, and the antique tiled stove give a unique atmosphere to the cosy dining room.
Please fill this form for individuals or for groups and you shall receive an answer written by a live person at Colombi Hotel. This is the only way you can know exactly what room types are available for the dates you want, and the best possible rate, because you are dealing directly with the hotel.
Bear in mind that websites set up to give an automatic answer, work with allocated quotas given by the hotel, therefore when it appears there are no rooms available for the date you want, this is not necessarily true, because they never allocate ALL the rooms to third parties.
