Cortijo Aguila Real is
situated very near Sevilla, less than 15 miles away, out in the
countryside. The property was and still is (in a much lesser scale)
a farm house. The present owner of Cortijo Aguila Real bought it
with the idea of converting it into a nice hotel in a farm house, to
provide guests with the wonderful sensation of staying in a big hacienda house rather than a hotel, while visiting the world famous
city of Sevilla. This can be something very relaxing when travelling
for pleasure, you absolutely have the best of two worlds or better
say three: a home away from home which is not really yours, so you
don’t have to concern yourself with it..., a wonderful city like
Sevilla less than 20 minutes away and the feeling of country
lifestyle where everything they cook, for example, is home made.
Cortijo Aguila Real has a restaurant, "La Veranda" overlooking
the breathtaking prairies. Here the serve dinners, although you can
order a la carte from 8 in the morning until 10 o'clock at night, in
your room, by the swimming pool or in one of the salons. Food in the
Cortijo Aguila Real is usually pretty good and healthy. All rooms
are nicely decorated and each one was named after a flower.
This "Cortijo" has the feel of an Andalusian aristocratic home. It
is surrounded by 20 hectares of wheat and sunflower fields and from
the gardens you can catch a glimpse of the famous Giralda tower in
Seville. Passing under the main gate you enter the huge inner
courtyard where there is bougainvillaea in abundance; the old
dovecote and a water trough remind you that this was once a working
farm. The public rooms are elegantly decorated in pastel colours
with heavy old tables, paintings, a great collection of books and
magnificent barrel-vaulted ceilings. The rooms are decorated with
hand-painted furniture, double beds and beautiful bathrooms. Its
romantic, palm-filled garden, perfectly lit at night, invites guests
to spend the entire evening there. The restaurant is also an
attractive spot, with classical music adding a special touch to the
delicious cuisine. Cortijo Aguila Real is traditional Andalusian
