Originally a farm estate, this beautifully located Aigen hotel, at the foot of the Gaisberg mountain in Salzburg, is inmersed in natural country surroundings but only a few minutes to the marvellous town centre. Initially built in 1100 AD century,  a time in which Salzburg had just received its city rights, the land passed from hand to hand  until it became a well known place  to get a cold beer. It was not until the 20th century that after several phases of rebuilding that  the Doktorwirt became what it  is today, a Hotel restaurant, with a quiet, friendly atmosphere and  country flair, mixed with typical Salzburg culture and life, where its centuries old estate owners, have made efforts in keeping alive the old  traditions of “Doktorwirt.”   A cozy, warm, very traditional Austrian  family operated hotel,  has confortable lounges and has been equipped with all modern conveniences.
