To get here from Avignon the
road winds through vineyards and the stunning Luberon and Vaucluse Monts.
“Here” is the Domaine des Andéols, a Provencal hamlet perched on a rise
surrounded by lakes, orchards, woods and gardens. And here is where
Olivier and Patrizia Massart, natives of the Luberon, have gathered the
fruits of their extensive journeys: furniture, paintings, sculptures,
art books, music... And from this collection, this collection of
collections, they have created a village of exotic guest houses… Africa,
Asia, Art Deco, Ultramodern… each friendly, each one unique, mysterious
and multi-faceted. The guest at Andéols is swept off to different
continents while staying in the heart of Provence, with its
ever-changing horizon, its mountains and sea.
Such an exceptional place, Olivier and Patricia Massart felt, should be
open to membership. In other words, a non-profit association was created
which allows anyone who joins to fully enjoy the Domaine des Andéols.
All of the Domaine¹s activities are open to association members who can
participate in the daily as well as the artistic and cultural life of
the Andéols.
The nine houses of the
Domaine des Andéols are all different, for each one is a collection of
memories. Memories and souvenirs of journeys, experiences, sensations,
that each piece of furniture and cloth, each colour, each object,
recounts in its own specific way. Here, the hotel have The Lover’s
House, there, The Cascade House; further on The Forever House; then The
House of Afar… The Terrace House and The Red House make a pair, whereas
The White House and The Artist’s House are neighbours. And Traveller’s
House overlooks The House of Savors and The Water House… Nine
independent houses; all large and friendly, comfortable and refined.
Nine invitations to travel, to an immobile and serene journey, a
cultivated and epicurean voyage. And two houses to get together and
share: The House of Savors (the restaurant) and The Water House (the
