Completely rebuilt, the Hotel Duquesa de Cardona keeps in its noble parts the spirit and own style from the original structure, which combines with modern and vanguard deco in the rooms. The Hotel Duquesa de Cardona, a four superior star category hotel is located at the maritime promenade called 'Moll de la Fusta' keeping the Gothic Quarter in its back. From its location you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view from Montjuic Mountain and Christopher Columbus monument to the Olympic Port. The Hotel Duquesa de Cardona is part of the block tha faces the 'Moll de la Fusta', delimiting Mercé Street (North), Plata Street (East), Passeig Colom (South) and Simó Oller Street (West). The Hotel Duquesa de Cardona has six levels and a nice terrace as well as a plunge pool on the penthouse. During the XVI century the property was in Cardona family's hands. In that age, lineages like the Gualbes, The Montcadas, the Queralts and the Cardonas built in this site their prestigious houses, which lodged the Royal Court during its stays in the city of Barcelona. The present construction was finished in 1850 when Josefa Trabal was the owner. We can appreciate that the building was made in an eclectic style under a neoclasssic inspiration. Its most noble face was the one that could be opened from Mercé Street, however the sea wall desappearance in 1888 the Passeig Colom face became the most visible one. Although all these years the Hotel Duquesa de Cardona has had different owners, the building has always held private houses. Finally, a group of investors decided to create a new and different hotel project to give an actual sense to this 1800 building.

Boutique hotel with adapted rooms. This hotel has a level access leading into a quiet reception and foyer area. The breakfast area is also on the ground floor and is completely accessible. There is lift access to the first floor where the adapted room is located along with an adapted disabled toilet for the clients of the hotel. The room itself is quite large with a double bed and all the usual fittings. The bathroom is spacious (3.5M x 1.76M) with a wheelchair accessible shower and plenty of leg space underneath the sink. Unfortunately, the toilet is only accessible from the right hand side and the shower seat from the left. AccessibleBarcelona do have a shower wheelchair for hire for those that may find this a problem.

Connecting rooms in the city center of Barcelona. Our connecting rooms consist on 2 double independent rooms (a Classic interior and a Deluxe exterior), one in front of the other. The part of the corridor that separates the rooms, has at the same time 2 external doors. When you close these doors, you create a special private area in between the rooms classic and deluxe. Then you can choose to open or close the main doors of the rooms, depending if you want privacy or not. Both rooms can be twin or double rooms.
How to reach the hotel
From the airport of Barcelona:
- Taxi: There is a taxi stop in front of each terminal. It takes around from 20 to 40 minutes to reach the hotel, depending on the traffic. The rate is from 25 euros aproximately, depending on the pieces of lugagge you bring into the taxi.
- Aerobus (color blue). It departs in front of each terminal. It works from 5.30 am to 1.00 am. Price: Single Ticket: 4-30 euros Return ticket: 7-50 euros Last stop is Plaça Catalunya, from where you need to take Metro's Line 3, and stop in Drassanes. From this point, there are 5 minutes walk to our hotel.
- By Train: train station is 5 minutes walk from the Airport Terminals. Train departs every 30 minutes. Stop in Sants Estació, take Metro's line 3, and stop in Drassanes. From this point, there are 5 minutes walk to our hotel.
- By car
Once you are out of the Airport area take the road C-32B (former B-202) direction Barcelona.
Take the Autovía de Castelldefels C-32 (former B-202) direction Barcelona.
Take the exit Ronda Litoral (B-10).
Exit number 21 Ciutat Vella direction Columbus Monument.
Take the traffic roundabout, turn on your right direction Paseo Colón and continue until Paseo Isabel II on the right lane.
Turn on your right in plaza Pla de Palau, go around the square and turn on your left direction Columbus Monument to come back the hotel.
From Sants-Estació Station
- Taxi: from the taxi stop outside the terminal, about 10 m drive.
- Metro: Line 3 till Drassanes stop, and then 5 minuts walking at Passeig Colom.
