Hotel El
Castell de Ciutat is located on the top of a hill, dominating the most
strategic point of the high Segre Valley, where all major communication
ways of the Pyrenees meet.
Abandoned for years, the castle was finally purchased by the Tàpies
family in 1970. Their intention was to restore it to its former beauty
and to transform it into a modern tourist establishment.
At the dawn of the XXI century the “Hotel El Castell de Ciutat” is an
attractive resort consisting of the old castle holding, a concert room, a
future museum, the 4 star Hotel El Castell and its well known restaurant
and a spectacular wellness centre.
The hotel has, at the present time, 38 rooms of which 14 with an attic
rooms, 18 rooms with terrace, 5 junior suites and 1 suite dúplex in the
fortification of the castle.
In the restaurant you will find the different possibilities that the
Hotel El Castell de Ciutat makes available of its guests. The Tàpies
restaurant is where a sensational kitchen is tasted. Wonderful
breakfasts enjoying first Sun rays, very special Cocktails to begin
special a veiled one. The Bar is the cosy corner to enjoy the most
select liquors. The deserving wine storage of the numerous awards
received during the last years and that count with more than 650
references of the most recognized national and international wine
