"Hostal del Cardenal"

"We were at Hostal del Cardenal for a few days last November. It was recommended by a dear friend of ours with homes in both Britain and Nerja. He travels widely and I value his recommendations. We were very pleased both with the hotel and the restaurant and the location near the escalators to the town. When we are in Spain again we shall stay there and we have recommended it to our friends."

"Hostal del Cardenal was one of our favorite hotels on the trip - easy to find, great parking, gorgeous grounds, fabulous restaurant and bar (who opened early to bring drinks, olives, and chips to their travel weary guests, plus served us on the patio). The rooms are old, but it`s in the castle walls and very historical. Beds are comfortable, baths sufficient, clean, and updated. Desk clerk had an attitude, but all the restaurant staff was wonderful. It´s in the center of everything - we walked to the entire city - old and new. One of the best dinners on the trip, with an adequate breakfast buffet too - cool cappucino machine. I would highly recommend it."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Hostal del Cardenal very much. The room was a little small, but comfortable, and the ambience of the hotel was charming. We didn´t take breakfast there as we preferred to go into the town. We enjoyed the location, and the lovely garden area. It was very easy to take the escalator up to the centre of Toledo. The staff was courteous, efficient and helpful. Although the restaurant within the grounds was not attached to the Hotel we felt that this was a plus. We had dinner there one night and it was excellent. We will definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to our friends."

"Our October visit to the Hostel del Cardenal in Toledo was wonderful. We had visited that hotel 17 years earlier and had wonderful memories and it didn´t let us down. The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful when we had a car problem, our dinners in the restaurant were very good and we loved our accommodations. We also stayed at your property in Zafra, Spain and felt that it was one of the highlights of our trip."

The hotel is in a beautiful building in a lovely location. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The staff was helpful, in particular in dealing with our luggage up and down the stairs. The Hostal del Cardenal and the Parador of Toledo are our favorite hotels in Toledo, the Hostal having the advantage of being located in the old city."
