Explore Rome

Villa Farnesina

Some of the most magnificent creations of the Italian Renaissance – a rare find in the baroque city of Rome – can be found at Villa Farnesina.

Now home to the Accademia dei Lincei, Villa Farnesina is located in the heart of the Trastevere district, and is acclaimed as one of the most noble and harmonious achievements of the Italian Renaissance.

Frescoed with breath-taking paintings inspired by the classical myths, it’s a not-to be missed opportunity to view works by Raphael, Sebastiano del Piombo, Giovanni da Udine, Giovanni Bazzi called Sodoma, Giulio Romano and Gianfrancesco Penni.

Fontana di Trevi

There is more to the Trevi Fountain than throwing in a coin in the hope of returning to Rome. The fountain is a true wonder, a masterpiece of water and stone nestled between the palaces of the historic city centre.

The sculpture itself is a triumphant example of baroque art with its soft, natural lines and fantasy creatures masterfully brought to life. Discover the backdrop to this work of art, other hidden treasures and a surprising view of the fountain from a unique perspective, available only for a few, on this special tour.

The Jewish Guetto

The Jewish Ghetto or Roman Ghetto, established in 1555, is one of the oldest and most authentic neighbourhoods in Rome. This small neighbourhood, surrounded by the Tiber on one side and Venice Square on the other, is not only rich in culture and religion, but offers a culinary experience not to be missed.

A fascinating journey between past and present, highlights include the synagogue and Jewish museum, stumbling upon cultural treasures and Kosher traditions, and simply soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of its many shops and restaurants.

Pastificio Cerere

If you love the artworks at The First Roma, you won’t want to miss a visit to the extraordinary Pastificio Cerere.

This former century old pasta factory is now home to art galleries, photography schools, graphic studios and workshops of notable contemporary artists, including Piero Pizzi Cannella, Leonardo Petrucci, Oliviero Rainaldi and Maurizio Savini, whose works are currently exhibited at The First Roma.

An experienced guide leads you through the former factory, which became a vibrant artistic centre back in the 1980s. See the creative process in action and immerse yourself in the cultural vibe of this unique artistic space.

The building is also home to the famous Pastificio San Lorenzo, where you can sip a glass of wine and enjoy culinary delights that expertly infuse Italian tradition with distant notes.

The journey ends with a trip down memory lane at the former chocolate factory, SAID, where you can delight in the endless cocoa flavours of your childhood.

Insider's Shopping Guide Tour

Just a few steps from the luxury stores and streets of Rome and your hotel, lies a maze of historical streets. Nestled amongst them are some of the most prestigious Roman boutiques, famed for their handmade luxury goods and unique local handicrafts.

Destination Coppede

One of our favourite sites to visit in the eternal city is inside the enchanted land of Quartiere Coppedè. Built between 1915 and 1927 in the heart of Rome, Quartiere Coppedè is where fantasy and eclecticism are the only architectural rules.

This magical, timeless place is the work of famous architect Gino Coppedè. His creative use of myriad architectural styles, from liberty, gothic and baroque to medieval and Greek, gave birth to this dream-like place of fairy tale homes.
