Perched on top of a hill near Siena,
where the
view of the city stands out before your eyes and it remains, as a background
to your stay, Frances'
Lodge is a country house that used to be the farmhouse and
the lemon-tree-house of a nearby eighteenth century manor.
Surrounded by eight acres of vineyards and olive trees, poppy
red fields and nearly forgotten sounds... birds... cicadas...
the wind, this charming place
seems to be immersed in the silence and peace that reigns only in
the open countryside. The perfectly trimmed garden
embellish the villa. Its elegant "bird-cage" in the
form of a small temple, decorated gothic niches and the fish-pond cistern,
together with
sweet smelling plants and the handsome collection of
ornamental lemon pots, invite to relaxing walks through it
or to enjoy the carefully prepared breakfast in cast iron tables, with
the perfume of the blooming roses and calycanthus, taking
you away. The swimming pool, where hue of blue tones, contrast
with the surrounding pink stones, and the incredible
colours that light the city's skyline, is a really
nice place to hang out and relax while you watch the swallows
flying over.
In the inside, a tastefully newly decorated lounge and inviting
guestrooms each
of them with a special atmosphere, suggestive decoration or
coloured furnishing, and cool water, drinks
and a basket of fresh fruits, complement a perfect whole for an
unforgettable stay.
A warm welcoming smile from the landlords the minute you arrive, will
win you
over immediately
making you feel at home for the rest of your stay. |
