THE
RESTARAUNT LA VOLPE PESCATRICE- The Fishing Vixen
The name recalls the walk down to the Fiord of Furore.
The beautiful restaurant is situated on a large and spacious
terrace with a breathtaking sea view. The cunning fox comes
from the country to the sea to catch its unusual prey; it is
the symbol of the double soul of the Amalfi coast.
In other words what for centuries has been considered as a
“Man with one foot in the sea, and the other in the vineyard”.
A man therefore who is both a farmer and fisherman.
This is how the 'typical' combined with ancient recipes
matured to become Mediterranean traditions, capable of
elevating the aromas of the land. It is here that the famous
'Sfusato' - the lemon which polka-dots in yellow the
countryside- accompanies the fresh flavour of a pezzogna (black
spot sea-bream), or the potatoes of Furore which marry
wonderfully local flying squid. |

THE BAR “CAFFÈ
DELL’AFFRESCO”
It is the resorts’ stylish bar and lounge, the ideal
location where the discerning guests will enjoy conversation,
reading or listening to music. It is a small realm of
atmosphere and rendezvous. A temple for fine drinking with a
variety ranging from prestigious bottles to rare teas. And
it is here, that during a blissful rest is possible to
discover that intriguing relation with a book, or being
carried away on the notes of the piano, due to the
complicity of the peace and the nature of the place.
Being steeped in this atmosphere for a few hours suffices
for a happy stay. |

THE
RESTAURANT "ITALIAN TOUCH"
This stylish
restaurant is the highlight of the Furore Inn Resort & Spa.
The decor with stylized crossed wooden arches recalls the
Arabic influence widely represented along the coast.
The name is the inheritance of a successful chain of
restaurants in London whereas the cuisine is Mediterranean,
but wisely revisited and integrated with a touch of
creativity. Creation of dishes are in full respect of every
ingredient, added to which is attention to variety and
detail.

THE WINE CELLAR |
| |
|
Dug out of
the rock, it is a cave and perfect place for the art of
refining precious bottles. One reaches it by an attractive
walk, in this unusual environment. Almost like a pilgrimage
between narrow passages where light filters with difficulty
and the sea is muted. It is a place for the Purist.
All great wines have a story. To be able to read it in a
honeycomb of niches with resting bottles, is always a
discovery. Then follows the game of the vintage, crus and
search for the most appealing.
The extraordinary cellar, with its ever-increasing variety,
is a true experience.
Proud to be able to offer a choice, ranging from several
hundred national labels to the celebrated Châteaux |

Perhaps just the fact of having reached it is
sufficient to raise your moral. Nature's beneficial works
needs no acknowledging. Silence, nature and the sea breeze
are alone miraculous, and yet the body still labours to
enjoy such a paradise!
Furore Inn Resort offers the possibility to be
treated and pampered physically and spiritually. These
promises have grown in a magical environment- where results
have always been achieved. The wide variety of treatments is
performed by professionals, from hydrotherapy to the
aesthetics, massages with four hands to the bio-energy. |

FURORE AND THE
FJORD |
| |
|
Furore was founded by a
group of Romans who, followed by the Barbarians, sought refuge in
the local mountains (I Monti Lattari) from where they descended to
settle on the coast. The town takes its name from the particular
fury which takes hold of the sea during stormy nights, when the
waves crash onto the craggy rocks, creating a frighteningly
deafening roar. Gradually the inhabitants began to dedicate
themselves to fishing, hand-made products and milk pasteurising.
Very close to Furore you find the Fjord with its
extraordinary morphological characteristics, a natural port, in
which commercial business flourished and antique industry developed.
The goods, having arrived up from the coast south of Salerno and
having been unloaded, were carried up from the port by hand along
the long stairways to the higher regions of the town. Along the
Fjord's great internal valley, along the route cut out by the river
Schiato, sprung up mills destined for paper production and grain
milling, whereas further up the valley lie the spanditoio and the
calcara. Particular hydraulic engineering works, crossing canals and
bridging gaps, were used to trap the water which moved the heavy
mill machinery. |
