From the Fish Market you walk along the canal, via Steenhouwersdijk and Groenerei. On your way you will see a bust (1992) representing Frank Van Acker, former mayor of Bruges, as well as two of the oldest stone bridges in town (Meebrug & Peerdenbrug). Go further down Groenerei to have a look at "De Pelikaan", a typical almshouse. Now turn about, to go back to the Fish Market |

Basilica of the Holy Blood: double chapel. On ground level : St. Basil's Chapel (1139-1149) in roman style. The first floor chapel, converted into gothic style in the 15th century, contains a.o. the famous Relic of the Holy Blood (worship : every Friday). Sunday services : 8 a.m. & 11 a.m. Museum of the Holy Blood : exhibition of reliquaries, vestments, paintings and other artefacts. |
