Order and reason are the currencies
of Vitoria-Gasteiz, which prides itself on having one of the best
planned urban designs in Spain, as well as the greenest areas.
The Parque de la Florida, developed in 1820, is a spacious and
luxuriant example of this eminently habitable, unhurried and well-proportioned
city. It is also a city that has remained faithful to its origins,
preserving the Gothic formation of its narrow streets and steep
alleyways, with an historic medieval quarter situated on a hill
overlooking the city. |
