An ancient convent built in
1732, summer residence for the Congregation of the sisters of
Saint Thérèse of the
Child Jesus for a
long time, hosts today a vanguard hotel incrusted between walls
of long lived history. The Gran Claustre Hotel is located next to the
castle walls, in the historic quarter of Altafulla, a charming village
with cobbled streets. Its imposing exterior reminds of armours and
knights. Its interior with its arches, passageways, balconies, wood and original wrought ironwork, create an ambience of bewitched romanticism and natural beauty.
Sophisticated names identify the guest rooms. Sweet steel, red
passion, charcoal stone are some of the names, after
the fresh, bright colours, in which they have been decorated.
For those who wish to relax, the roof terrace is the perfect place. The
solarium, the Jacuzzi and the spectacular views of the Mediterranean sea
and the castles of Tamariz and Altafulla, should not be missed. The interior
courtyard, and the swimming pool, are the complement for a perfect
stay. The small but enchanting restaurant, called Bruixes de Burriac, housed in the
old heart of the convent, the
former chapel, serves creative dishes with
Mediterranean flavours, special for good
cuisine's lovers. The fine treatment from the staff, exclusive
services and quality of the food, make of this place and
unforgettable one in which to spend a romantic rendezvous. |
