Our People

Courtesy, hospitality and friendliness, which make Bologna the representative of “dolce vita”, become tangible in the places and initiatives of Majestic. Overlooking the town's main street, Via Indipendenza, the hotel represents the ideal starting point for a visit to the centre of Bologna with its historical traces of the past, contributions to modernity and innovation, opportunities for pleasant strolls along the shops and alleyways, everyday life full of cheerfulness.

Elegant and welcoming, furnished with precious furniture, they overlook the nearby Piazza del Nettuno, dominated by the famous Renaissance Fountain of the sea God. It was sculpted in the middle of the 1500s by the French sculptor Jean Boulogne, so now it is called Giambologna, giving its name to one of the hotel’s suite too. The Art Déco Terrace Suite stands out as the only room with a private terrace from which one can enjoy the most beautiful views of the city. Professionalism and friendliness of the hotel staff are also of great value; they represent the typical hospitality of Bologna.

Among the many events there is "Medieval Market Tour” which allows discovering the ancient medieval markets of Bologna (Mercato del Quadrilatero, Mercato di Mezzo, Mercato delle erbe) and is guided by Executive Chef, who becomes a personal assistant for food shopping and then a personal trainer at cooking classes. The Sommelier’s creative and professional contribution is also of great importance: wine tasting at Enoteca Morandi, detailed and always poetic description of the dishes by Maitre d'excellence, who has worked for years with Gualtiero Marchesi, Cracco and Bruno Barbieri.

Last but not least is the "Sweet & Tasty Tour", a sweet journey into the culture of ice cream, chocolate and sorbetto, including Sunday Brunches. This true gastronomic route is offered as a tribute to the culture of the area, its typical recipes and DOC products. Our Style

Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni”, the prestigious witness of the city history, for centuries has been housing beauty and traditions in the historical centre of Bologna, becoming a museum of art, history and culture, representing the soul of Italian cities. Its foundations, crossed by a stretch of Roman road Flaminia Militare, date back to 187 BC and preserve the remains of the ancient medieval towers of Ariosti family, which also belonged the Renaissance poet Ludovico Ariosto; from the panoramic roof garden, overlooking the rooftops and buildings, we can recognize the structure of the ancient Roman city.

For centuries, the only five-star luxury hotel in Emilia Romagna has been telling through art the story of architectural interpretation that enhances the view of Palazzo Fava’s octagonal tower. The interior, which was rebuilt in its present form in the 18th century when it was intended to be a Seminary by the bolognese Pope Benedict XIV, conserves precious frescoed halls created by the painters of bolognese School of the sixteenth and seventeenth century. First of all these are the frescoes by Agostino, Annibale and Ludovico Carracci which welcome guests at I Carracci restaurant, and those in Camerino d’Europa, an exclusive meeting room of the hotel, recently restructured and representing the history of Europe learned from Ovid's Metamorphoses.

The richness and cheerful explosion of style that characterizes the Italian 18th century is told by the superb architecture of the building. Its geo-magnetic position, overlooking St. Peter’s Cathedral, allows a relaxed and refreshing sleep at night. Meanwhile, the 20th century is portrayed in the style and creative force of Cafè Marinetti, dedicated to the founder of Futurism who elected the halls of Majestic hotel as his innovative activities’ headquarters. The ancient times of Enoteca Morandi represent typical taverns of Bologna.
