The Grand Hotel Majestic, the oldest and most prestigious hotel in Bologna, sits in the heart of the city on Via Indipendenza, within walking distance of Piazza Maggiore and the famous Due Torri.
This five star deluxe hotel is situated in a Palazzo designed by architect Alfonso Torregiani during the first half of the 18th century and built by order of Cardinal Prospero Lambertini, who later became Pope. The palazzo is in fact, built on top of an ancient Roman road, part of which can be seen within the hotel.
The 109 rooms have a mix of antiques fornitures with modern amenities, a perfect blend of classic italian style, elegance and hospitality. The 4th floor refurbishment has enriched the hotel with a new range of Junior Suites and Deluxe Room. The style in this case is classic eighteen century classical french.
The hotel is famous for its I Carracci restaurant with it’s frescoes, which is rightly regarded as among the most sophisticated and elegant in Bologna. This is a place where you may enjoy the traditional recipes of the Emilia region whilst seated under authentic Italian masterpieces. Our new “Enoteca Morandi” with a well stocked cellar provides a wide range of fine Italian and foreign wines to complement a traditional and “rustico” regional menu.
The hotel has a total of 7 meeting rooms - 4 of which have been created recently. These rooms, all enjoying natural light, can each accomodate up to 120 people. The three original rooms are quite unique each having16th century coffered ceilings.

The Royal Suite Giuseppe Verdi is without doubt the richest, most iconic suite in classic Venetian style in the building. Comprising an entrance hall, created in order to separate the areas effectively, it has a large lounge filled with period features and two unique bedrooms. The snug velvet armchairs, precious fabrics on the walls, refined drapery, bar corner, period fireplace, lustrous crystal lamp and cabinet filled with fine porcelain all come together to create an ambiance that is highly unique, sophisticated and original.

The Art Deco Terrace Suite, so-called due to its unique style to be found nowhere else in the hotel, is the Grand Hotel Majestic’s most prestigious suite. It was created during the most recent refurbishment of the hotel, and has a truly captivating character. It is the only room on the 5th floor to have a private lift with direct access to the room.
All the rooms in the hotel are endowed with antiques and fitted with the latest modern conveniences. Many are in classical style, perfectly in line with the aristocratic feeling that the hotel emanates: wooden gems are woven together with beige and peach tones, creating a pleasant contrast with the contemporary style of the spacious bathrooms. They enjoy a magnificent view of the city from above, which takes in the roofs, monuments and beautiful historic centre of Bologna.
