Grand Hotel San Michele is a
Byzantine building on a state that comprises a nine hole private golf
course, a farm and a private beach, all, exclusively for hotel guests.
Most of the food served in the restaurant is from the local farm, even the
wine! The hotel building is situated high above the state road that
crosses the property, between the hotel and the road are the golf course
and part of the farm, the private beach is on the other side of the road.
The hotel building stands magnificently, facing the sea. The suites and
all the rooms on the front offer a relaxing view of the Mediterranean.
From the ones on the south side, the view of the coast line leading to
Sicily is really beautiful. The suites on the fourth floor have big
terraces with sun tanning chairs, and they only cost thirty thousand liras
more per day, which is not even twenty dollars. The Gran Hotel San Michele
aside from being a place that offers so much to do, including live music
played on a long concert piano every night during summer, is also the
perfect stop over on the way to Sicily, because it is two and a half hours
from Naples and two hours from where the ferry service for Sicily leaves
every half hour. |
