FLOATING SWIMMING POOL |
| |
|
 |
Since July Grand Hotel
Tremezzo Palace has added, with pride, to its two swimming
pools a distinguishing element, rare of its kind, destined
to leave an unforgettable memory in all its guests: a
floating swimming pool in the lake waters.
"Water On The Water", a crystal-clear water break in the
blue of the Lake Como, the indescribable sensation of a swim
just opposite Bellagio. |
| |
|
 |
"La Piscina dei Fiori" deep
in the green of its magnificent park, surrounded by colours
and centuries old trees, is dedicated to those people who
like relaxing surrounded by the nature. |

THE PARK |

|
 |
The park of Grand Hotel
Tremezzo has always represented one of its most precious
jewels. It looks like an organic composition of all
luxuriant gifts from nature: green meadows, coloured
flowerbeds, azaleas bushes, rhododendrons and hydrangeas,
centuries old trees. There are a swimming pool, a tennis
court, a health way for sports-lovers, and precious corners
as well, where you can admire some art pieces by
contemporary artists. |

THE WINE BAR |
| |
|
|
It has got a prestigious wine
list with more than 400 red, white and rosé wines, result of
a research among the great tradition wines and the new
discoveries of the Italian regions.
Very good broads of local sausages and cheese and a great
choice of very refined cakes, among them the chocolate
fondue, match the tasting. |

COMANCINA ISLE |
| |
|
|
Inhabited since the
Roman Period, the island is an important attraction for lovers of
archeology: many excavations brought to light the rests of a
baptistery and some churches.
The baroque San Giacomo oratory and the Basilica of Santa Eufemia,
built during the 7th century and then reconstructed, cannot be
missed. Typical in June the "Sagra di S.Giovanni" with fireworks. |

OLD CITY OF COMO |
|
|
 |
The old city centre,
closed to the traffic thanks to the ancient walls built in 1100,
includes the Cathedral, the Broletto (the former City Hall), San
Fedele Church, all of them of Romanesque-gothic origins.
Among the other buildings there are the Casa del Fascio, an example
of rationalistic architecture, Alessandro Volta’s Temple, dedicated
to the famous scientist of Como, inventor of the battery and the
Romanesque Basilicas of Sant’ Abbondio and San Carpoforo. |

LAKE COMO |
|
|
|
More than 48 Kms. (30 miles) north of Milan, romantic and
lovely Lake Como is a shimmering deep blue, spanning 4 Kms. (2
1/2 miles) at its widest point. With its flower-filled
gardens, villas built for the wealthy of the 17th and 18th
centuries, and mild climate, it's among the most scenic
spots in Italy. The best way to admire the lake's many faces
is to take a boat tour and pull into selected ports of call
en route for a meal, an espresso, a stroll, or some shopping
or swimming. |
