Hansa Hotel * * * *

Niklaas Desparsstraat 11

8000 Bruges -West Flanders - Belgium

This is the sister hotel of the Ambassade Hotel in Amsterdam. Once built as a private mansion in 1869, later in the hands of bankers, this magnificent 19th century classical building has been renovated and converted into the Hansa Hotel. The house has a 14th century old cellar with special arches, of which stones are now displayed at the museum of the archaeological society. The hotel is located in the centre of the historical city, 50 m. from the Market Square. While the lobby and dining area are perfectly decorated with old-time charm, the rooms have a much more generic modern feel, that is quickly forgotten when you appreciate how large these are im comparison to the rest of european hotel rooms. The staff is amazingly helpful doing everything necessary to make the most of a short stay in Brugges; recommending our restaurants for dinner, providing bikes to tour the town, etc., etc.
The hotel is perfectly located near the town square, close to cosy restaurants, interesting museums, elegant shops and romantic carriages that take you through the city, and boat rides on Brugge's famous canals that show you the hidden corners of the city.
