Hotel Hermitage is the recommendation for the best accommodations in Breuil Cervinia, well known throughout the world for its fine skiing.
Its mighty mountains back right up to the Matterhorn and skiers can
ski into Switzerland and have lunch in Zermatt. Summer is also a
glorious time of year here, with fabulous hiking trails. Most of the
hotels in town are high-rise buildings without much style or charm but
happily this is not the case with the Hermitage. The setting is
excellent: the hotel is snuggled on the side of the mountain, looking
over the village below to incredible mountain peaks across the narrow
valley. Although not an old building, it is constructed in the
traditional chalet style seen throughout the region. The sturdy stone-and-wood
façade, enhanced in summer with balconies laden with colorful
geraniums, presents an appealing first impression. Inside, the decor
is filled with old-world charm. The walls are paneled with blond wood
that came from a 17th-century mountain chalet. There are many antiques
and bouquets of fresh flowers throughout to further enhance the cozy
mountain ambiance. The guestrooms, too, are charming and each has a
balcony capturing a view of the mountains. The final touch of
perfection for the Hotel Hermitage is that it is owned and managed by
the gracious Neyroz family. |
