The HospederÃa SeñorÃo de Casalarreina was a
former Dominican Monastery of "Nuestra Señora de la Piedad" was founded
in 1509. A Historic-Artistic Monument, in Catholic-king and plateresque
styles, built in stone with significant decoration and wooden ceilings.
It is located in a privileged position in Casalarreina, from which its
ancient name "Aranjuez de la Rioja" was derived. Casalarreina is close
to Haro, capital of the Rioja Alta (Upper Rioja).
The original form was very finely renovated and decorated. The thick
stone walls of the hotel, which keep both, the flavour and warm
atmosphere that its ancestors enjoyed, bring us back into time.
The hotel houses 15 spacious rooms totally furnished with classy
bathrooms, all fitted with huge Jacuzzis and genuine decorative elements
(stone set in forge, peculiar basins, mirrors, curtains, lamps, antique
furniture, ceiling, "trompe l'oeil" paintings). Every detail has been
carefully chosen and placed in a singular style of architecture. Added
to all this, the elevators with trompe l'oeil paintings and the huge
barrels hanging against the walls, or the mingling sound produced by the
running water in the little stone-built ditch in the dining room, give a
special visual effect. Fun, art, culture, wine, rest, work, love, magic,
you can find it all in the HospederÃa SeñorÃo de Casalarreina. |
