Hotel Krone Assmannshausen is a first class hotel on the banks of the river Rhine composed of two buildings, both facing the river.
There are rooms in both buildings and the main building also houses the gastronomic restaurant, which is quite well known in the community. All the rooms offer standard first class comfort and amenities and naturally being a hotel so old, one could almost say that every room is different from the other. As for the location, it is great regarding the view of the river and places to visit, even to Frankfurt you can go for the day only. But it is important to mention that there are railroad tracks behind the hotel, which are set back maybe not far enough, and when trains pass during the night if you are not in the front rooms, the noise could be annoying with the window open. Other than that, there are no other buts to be said about this enchanting hotel. The restaurant by the way, has some nice panoramic windows all looking out to the Rhine river, which is undoubtedly a very pleasant sight. A tip about this hotel, is that if you are coming form the southwest side of the river, it will be necessary to take a ferry to cross it. The trip is quite pleasant and short but all the same, is probably best to try and arrive during daylight since you may feel a bit lost at night.
