With an event capacity of up to 5,800 people, the modern
four star superior hotel will be the largest convention
hotel in the center of Berlin. Halls "Maritim" and "Berlin",
both with foyers, can accommodate over 3,000 and 1,200
guests respectively and comprise more than 4,000 sqm. An
additional 18 meeting rooms and three foyers are available
for events while 41 business suites can be used for smaller
meetings with 8 to 24 participants. |

The hotel offers three
restaurants: restaurant "Maritim" seating 600 guests, À-la-carte-restaurant
"Grand Restaurant M" seating 160, and restaurant "Brasserie"
with front cooking. During the summer, an additional 60
guests can be accommodated on the spacious terrace. |

The kitchen crew, headed by well-known chef Reinhold Schuwer,
has great plans for their guests. Schuwer wants to surprise
them with an ambitious gastronomical concept which will offer
unique experiences. At "Grand Restaurant M" he will offer
traditional Berlin dishes from the time of Emperor Wilhelm
II, such as jellied eel in herb sauce and the vegetable
mixture "Leipziger Allerlei". At restaurant "Maritim" so
called "embassy lunches and dinners" will take guests on a
culinary trip around the world each Sunday, while the
"Brasserie" will specialize on delicious seafood dishes. |

Exotic cocktails, live music and dance are happening at the
elegant hotel bar "Le Bar".

For the
largest congress hotel in the heart of Berlin, 550,000 meters of
cable and mains and 51,250 meters of pipe were used. 17,000 sqm
carpet were laid on the floors and more than 32,000 sqm wallpaper
used for decoration. Craftsmen installed 15,000 lamps, 20,000
switches and sockets, 6,000 sprinklers, 2,500 fire detectors and
17,000 loudspeakers. Hall "Maritim", the heart of the house, is
equipped with nine large ceiling lamps made from over 30,000
crystals. On the ground floor and the mezzanine 1,500 sqm of the
precious portuguese Estremoz marble were used as wall panelling and
3,300 sqm granite for the floors. |
