The original building dates
from the XVI century. The land around it is full of antique olive trees.
This Masserias used to be sighting towers to prevent the Turkish attacks,
therefore, they are all in the same line approximately 1 Kilometer from
the sea shore. With the passing of time they have been used for the
production of Puglia’s green gold: the olive oil. And this Masseria is
set in the biggest producing area of high quality olive oil in all of
Italy. There are 33 rooms, all with their own private little garden deep
into the olive trees territory of the Fasano planes. Two rooms are in
the antique caves, one of which is a very large suite with its own
private 200 M2 antique orchard. Orchard in which, out of an antique
water reservoir a little private pool has been built for this special
room, even with the latest Jacuzzi. And there are also rooms in the
antique tower where they used to hang the cherry tomatoes to dry for the
winter. You can see the blue sea from the little spy - windows. Some
other rooms are placed inside the courtyard of the Masseria and one has
its own antique orchard garden, next to the main "Erbarium" that makes
you dizzy with all the perfumes that emanates. All rooms are very nice,
large, cozy and well equipped, and except for the suite that even has
its own heated swimming pool, and the classic rooms which are a bit
smaller, there is practically no difference between the superior rooms
and the junior suites. The swimming pool is outstanding, really unique,
it is very large in a kind of irregular shape with a beach, so you
literally walk in exactly as you would when entering into the sea, but
this a sweet water swimming pool! The hotel has a large variety of
activities and leisure facilities including a Health Centre, fitness Spa
and private beach within 2 kilometers. There are also many golf courses
in the surrounding area; free shuttle service is offered to the Egnathia
Golf Club. |
