In Plasencia, you have
the Feast of early June; the Feast of ”Martes Mayor” on the
first Tuesday of August; and the Feast and Procession of Virgen
del Puerto, the first Sunday after Resurrection.
In the Jerte valley, the celebration of the blossoming sherry
trees is very interesting. Also, you can visit the cathedral,
palaces, walls, gates and bridges. For its history, the
districts of Caceres and Trujillo are a impressive "most see"
spot in beautiful Plasencia.

ABOUT PLASENCIA |

Plasencia is
the second most important city within the Caceres
province. It was fouunded in 1186 by Alfonso VIII and It
has around 37,000 inhabitants and stands along the River
Jerte which allows travellers to magnifficent places as
the Valley of the Jerte, La Vera, Valley of the Ambroz,
Natural Park de Monafrague and the Valleys of Alagon,
Hurdes and Siera de Gata. Also, The city has two
cathedrals, one of which dates from the 13th century.
There are also several palaces and a hunting museum
worthy of a visit.
All these
beautiful landscapes and rich history leave an
unfogettable memory of Plasencia on all travellers. |
