Hotel Bareiss

Member of Relais & Chateaux

If there is a hotel that can claim, with a clear conscience, that it is your holiday home then it is the Bareiss. For those travelling alone just as much as for couples, for friends or for families. For you all, we offer not just an unbelievably large choice of suitable rooms, apartments and suites – all of them with first-class furnishings providing the greatest level of comfort. But also, of course, with the all-round care of the Culinary Holiday, wonderful pools and a world of saunas, as well as a wide variety of cultural activities – plus, don’t forget, the Children’s Village with a complete programme for our young guests.
Right from the start, as the Kurhotel Mitteltal, the Bareiss has always felt a duty towards people's 'good health'. The design of our bathing area, which has grown steadily over the years, is an important contribution towards the wellbeing of our guests – or for their 'wellness' as one says nowadays.
This charming hotel in the heart of the Black Forest proposes a myriad of activities for all ages. The “Kinderdörfle” kids’ village will thrill the younger ones whilst nature lovers will benefit from the forest park, the Sattelei refuge or the national park nearby.
The rooms, which are decorated in an elegant country house style, offer a very high comfort. You can enjoy a cigar while tasting a single malt at the new Smokers Lounge, appreciate a moment of wellbeing at the Wellness & Spa centre and swim in the natural pond.

The Perfumery

Oasis of Wellbeing

Exquisite cosmetic and care products, fine scents and bath salts, nightwear, swimwear, hair ornaments and accessories. Our Perfumery is a realm of the senses – where you will find pleasant and simply irresistible luxuries that will pamper you from head to toe.

In addition to the classic lines, familiar worldwide, scents from Guerlain and Acqua di Parma are a special focus. Both have written history with their olfactory compositions, and there is nothing like the subtle hint of a noble Eau de Cologne or Acqua di Colonia.

Children At The Bareiss

The most important people in the world

The Bareiss is a family hotel. And that is why we take particular care of our young guests. We do almost everything to ensure that they feel good here with us. Many of those who were our young guests fifty years ago now stay here with their own grandchildren. Who, just like their own grandparents, are so happy at the Bareiss that each year’s departure is difficult. It’s a good thing that there’s always a next time!

Games, Suspense, Fun – and a lot of fresh air

Loving and competent care

The Hotel Bareiss has a great deal to offer for children as well as for grown-ups. For more than 20 years now the hotel’s youngest guests have been looked after by a competent and trained minder. They look after guests aged between 3 and 16 together with her co-workers.

An age-based programme

And as needs and interests within this age span are very different indeed, it is divided up into three groups: the Minis between 3 and 6, the Maxis between 7 and 11 and Teens between 12 and 16. Each group enjoys a daily programme commensurate with their age although of course, this is not rigorously observed. We gladly respond to individual wishes and someone who wants to undertake a particular excursion whether it’s to the Europa Park or to to play Minigolf, only need pick up the phone and tell us what is required.

Minis (3 to 6 years)

With the “Minis” we explore the Barefoot Park, build with Lego, go out to feed wild animals or to the Adventure Playground, or explore the meadows and their inhabitants.

Maxis (7 to 11 years)

Our programme for the “Maxis” includes the Children's Etiquette Course, as well as forest discovery tours, mini-golf, cooking course, twister and tennis.

Teenies (12 to 16 years)

For our teenies, e.g.: excursion to the Europa Park, go-cart rides, introductory surfing course, paragliding, billiards and darts tournaments, DVD evenings, visit to the adventure baths, cinema visit with a look behind the scenes, introductory golf course, climbing park, Mitteltal natural pool with beach volleyball, youth days at the House of Games.

Baby's Holidays at The Bareiss

Our housekeepers maintain a stock of cots, bath/nappy-changing combinations, potty, plug safety protectors, bottle-warmers and nappy disposal bin everything is available ready for your holidays with baby. You may obtain a baby phone and arrange for a baby sitter at the Reception. We shall gladly look after your baby following prior arrangement – both in the evening and during the day. Per hour € 15.-

Pool Bar

As fresh as the early morning

You will find the early risers at our Oasis Pool Bar early in the morning. Breakfast delicacies are already available here at seven o'clock, from the fragrant cup of coffee to crisp rolls, from freshly pressed orange juice to muesli. So those who cannot or do not want to wait for the large breakfast buffet meet at the Bar.
During the day there is a range of bistro specialities for those who are slightly hungry between meals, as well as coffee and cakes served, if you'd like, at your sun bed.

The cuisine at the Restaurant Bareiss

During his years of wandering, Claus-Peter Lumpp passed through the best of schools, from Eckart Witzigmann to Alain Ducasse. Nevertheless – or perhaps because of this – he has developed his own signature: technical perfection with aromatic richness (almost opulence) that, with lean elegance, combines visual attractiveness and wholesomeness.

Book Claus-Peter Lumpp

Friends and guests of the Restaurant Bareiss will be pleased:

Claus-Peter Lumpp and his Pâtissier Stefan Leitner have produced a book.
Though this is no ordinary cookbook. It is an exclusive two-volume edition whose photos were not taken in any studio but live in the kitchen.

Photographer Michael Wissing accompanied the team for over a year
and took pictures of countless dishes during ‘active service’. This has resulted in very immediate, unusual, luscious and lively pictures that record the development of their subjects by both masters.

The volume that Claus-Peter Lumpp has dedicated to cuisine is a lively picture book. The second volume, the Pâtisserie of Stefan Leitners, has also been provided with recipes.

Hotel Bar

Of sundowners and nightcups...

Whether an aperitif or a digestif, whether a well poured beer or a well shaken cocktail, whether an espresso in the evening or a fine cigar: the bar at the Bareiss is full of pleasures.

Cosy. Rustic. For 'happy sitters'.

The Bareiss has two original farmer's lounges from the 19th century. The Förster-Jakob-Stube, in memory of Hermann Bareiss' father, and the clock lounge, furnished with many cuckoo clocks and other types in order to remind us that 'hours do not strike for a happy man'.

Cheerful and sunny. With a fire in winter.

It is very easy to enjoy life in the Kaminstube. Executive Chef Wilhelm Himmler and the kitchen and service teams ensure cheerful hospitality. They are available to you every evening and, at weekends and bank holidays, during the afternoon too because the Kaminstube is open every day.

Wine Cellar

Wine that gladdens the heart of man...

More than 20,000 bottles in the temperature-controlled cellar. 1,000 different items from the whole world of wine – there will also be the right one there for you. Whereby attention is focused on Baden, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Italy. In addition to Baden and Württemberg, the selection of German wines is rounded out with Mosel, Saar, and Franconia. The Alsace, the Loire, Rhône and Champagne are present with Grand Crus, as are representatives from, for example, Spain, California, Australia and our neighbour Austria. Another highlight is our rare, lusciously sweet, pre-1934 wine and the Bordeaux and Ribera del Duero wines from the Bareiss wine cabinet of rarities. There is also a carefully made selection of half-bottles and sparkling wines.

Hotelgast Restaurant

Restaurants for our hotel guests

May we accompany you to your table? From the first day of your stay onwards, you have a fixed space in our very differently furnished restaurants for hotel guests. In order to allow you to concentrate fully on our culinary delicacies and waste no time searching. In summer, naturally, we would also be delighted to serve you on the terrace – then you can not only enjoy our excellent food, but also the good Black Forest air.

Bareiss Half-Board

Maximum culinary pleasure

It is said that life does not measure the number of pleasures but their intensity. This is irrelevant at the Bareiss, where both the number and intensity of the pleasures are maximised. Such large choice, such quality, is only very seldom found at such a unique level. So enjoy it, our Culinary Day – from early in the morning until late at night.

Please fill this form for individuals or for groups and you shall receive an answer written by a live person at Hotel Bareiss. This is the only way you can know exactly what room types are available for the dates you want, and the best possible rate, because you are dealing directly with the hotel.
Bear in mind that websites set up to give an automatic answer, work with allocated quotas given by the hotel, therefore when it appears there are no rooms available for the date you want, this is not necessarily true, because they never allocate ALL the rooms to third parties.
