Hotel Carlos V in Madrid is something to get surprised. As you enter the hotel you find a front desk just for check in, then on the first floor, a beautiful salon with an inviting cocktail bar where you will be offered a welcome drink. In this nice salon is also where they serve breakfast. After breakfast is finished this salon becomes a reading and playing room, an area you will surely enjoy. The Carlos V dates from the 40’s but has been fully renovated. A very charming property located in a pedestrian street between el Callao and Puerta del Sol surrounded by shops and restaurants every where. The typical location of the Carlos V for a tourist to really get to know Madrid on foot and at the same time an excellent one, for someone traveling on business, because you have easy access to taxis, metros, so you can be anywhere in Madrid in just minutes and at the same time near theaters, restaurants, discos, etc. The hotel rooms are nice although small, just as you would expect to find them in one of those charming Parisian hotels. And with all modern amenities, including individual air conditioning in every room which allows you to choose the temperature you want, as opposed to being committed to a central unit controlled from downstairs, which is still quite common in European hotels.
