Hotel del Lago is an old hotel in the middle of the town only fifty meters from the Puigcerda Lake. This is not a tall building, it is rather a spread out one, there are only two levels, so you really do not need an elevator. Large lawns contour the property with a round building in the centre which is connected to the Hotel El Lago part where the rooms are. There they have a delightful cafeteria and bar combined with a lounge.
Furniture in the rooms, not meaning mattresses of course, is probably twenty five years old if not more, but all in surprisingly good condition. So, if you don’t mind this type of furniture from the late seventies or sixties, the Hotel del Lago is a nice option to stay in Puigcerda at a reasonable price without any noise.
The owner of the Hotel del Lago runs the place himself, very nice guy by the way, he does not do anything else, he is usually there looking after his business, this is something, which like in any business, after having stayed in so many hotels, one learns to appreciate, because if any problem comes up, there will be someone capable ready to solve it. As you probably know, there are eighteen ski stations within a twenty five kilometres radius from Puigcerda.
