The Hotel El Peregrino enjoys an optimum position in the Middle Area
of Navarre. For this reason, the Hotel El Peregrino is a good
starting point for making short, comfortable excursions or for
playing a healthy round of golf at any of the three courses to be
found in Navarre. These can be reached from the hotel in a short and
comfortable journey by car in just over ten minutes. |

In
Puente la Reina, you can visit the church of the Crucifix
(Crucifijo), of exceptional historic value, located at the entrance
to the town, from Pamplona, and very close to the Hotel El Peregrino
itself. It has two naves: a 12C Romanesque one and a 14C Gothic one.
It was founded by the Templarios and includes a pilgrims hospice.
In the Calle Mayor stands a second temple of particular interest,
the church of Santiago el Mayor (St James the Great), of Romanesque
style and rearranged in the 16C. In its interior there is a
magnificent gothic carving (14C) of Santiago Peregrino (St James the
Pilgrim), popularly known as Santiago Beltza (black in the Basque
language) |
