Hotel Gattapone is a small lodging option right in the heart of Gubbio which has been recently fully renovated. It features sixteen double rooms and two suites. The hotel is right in the centre of the historical Gubbio and it opens at two street levels. The main entrance is on the lower level but you can go in and out through the second floor where there is a small inside patio with a door to the street on that level. The rooms at Hotel Gattapone looked as good as brand new when we visited in September of 1997. Some of the rooms are quite small by American standards, but then the pricing is according. The two suites are also nice, pretty much like the rooms but with a small sitting area at the entrance. The Hotel Gattapone is exceptionally quiet because the two streets that give access to it are either just for pedestrians or dead end.
