35,000 M2 of beautifully landscaped gardens surround the hotel, a wonderful place to stroll through while enjoying the stunning views of  the Chiana valley.

Inside the VILLAGE there is also a little Chapel, which reflects the religious character and nature of this ancient village. This   little inner church has always been the heart of the Borgo’s life. Religious ceremonies such as christenings and weddings are still celebrated today, upon request by our guests. It is the ideal location for intimate and exclusive ceremonies. The rich frescoes decorating the nave still preserve the brightness and intensity of the original colors made, according to ancient techniques, with a mixture of natural materials, such as lapis-lazuli powder and eggs.

Nearby Cortona is an ancient Etruscan city, built on a spur of the Monte Sant'Egidio  which still remains a medieval gem today. It is surrounded by powerful walls, smoothed down by centuries and winds, along with the ancient gates opened in correspondence to the roads coming up from the valley. The visitors looking around from the top walls can admire one of the widest and harmonious views in Italy: the rich and immense Val di Chiana, limited on the horizon by the Siena mountains, fore most the Amiata and the Cetona; and closer up the wide expanse of the Trasimeno lake.

Because Cortona lies on the borders of Tuscany and Umbria, it is easy to reach various important tourist centres, both in Tuscany and nearby Umbria.
