Hotel Miramare is a
charming small property facing the Bay of Napoli in the nicest area of
town. Its position is particular because it is situated among famous
sites including the Royal Palace, Castel Maschio Angionio, and Castel
dell’Ovo. It affords a spectacular view of the famous Vesubio volcano
that buried the cities of Pompei and Heraculaneum in 79 AD. Caste
dell’Ovo, across the street from the hotel, marks the spot of the
original Greek town and the first known inhabitants of Napoli around the
8th century BC. Hotel Miramare was originally an aristocratic villa,
transformed into a hotel in 1944. After the war, newspaper articles and
social columns made the Hotel Miramare synonymous with the rebirth of
Naples through the many activities and events held here. There are only
31 rooms, of which five are single rooms, the rest are doubles. All
rooms are fitted with same comfort with small variations in size and of
course in location. A particular amenity of this hotel, is the way is
run, like if it was still a villa. Guests pay basically only for room
and telephone, because breakfast and even drinks, from an open trolley
bar in the lounge, are at no additional charge as long as you serve
yourself! |
