Built in 1926 as the first
boutique hotel in Paris, completely refurbished in the early 1990s, and beautifully
renovated in 2002, the Montalembert is located in the centre of Paris, in
the heart of Saint Germain des Prés, and few steps away from the Musée d’Orsay and the Louvre.
This historic landmark, has managed through time to be timeless, fashionable, high-tech,
and a preferred hot spot for the city's visitors. An 8 storey white, traditionally
Parisian building, gives way to a mixture of beige, cream, and gold colours,
with wooden
pillars and marbled floors, and with borrowed
elements of Bauhaus and post-modern design in the inside. The 56 rooms make a successful blend of classic and
contemporary, as guestrooms can be
chosen from any of these two styles. Classic
rooms, feature Louis Philippe furniture, enhanced with the latest fabrics and lighting;
contemporary rooms, have dark wood furniture and black-and-white photographs,
softened by taupe walls and lilac bedspreads. Simple lines, hand-crafted pieces, and top-quality fabrics and
amenities make this a special place for an unforgettable stay in Paris.
The hotel's lounge with a
fireplace corner and a splendid library provide a peaceful ambiance. The
restaurant, decorated with light wood panelling and black and white photographs,
is inviting and intimate, serving fine, inventive cuisine.
Great comfort and very efficient service make this residence a must one to check
into.
