With a history as celebrated as the
guests who patronised the establishment after World War Two, the
Mont-Blanc hotel has won a reputation as a leader in the mountain
hotel sector. The establishment recently took a youth cure, as
Jocelyne and Jean-Louis Sibuet changed its form while keeping its
soul.
The Hotel delighted the Fernandel family, which established its
summer headquarters there. It also welcomed some rich Egyptian and
French people from North Africa. That success led Jean Cocteau to
christen the establishment "the 21st arrondissement of Paris"! And
Marc Maisony programmed a all series of galas at the Mont-Blanc
featuring talented young singers such as Line Renaud, Jacqueline
François, Renée Lebas, the Etienne Sisters
Among the hotel's famous guests we may mention: Brigitte Bardot,
Charles Aznavour, Juliette Greco, Annabel and Bernard Buffet, Jean
Marais, Joséphine Baker, Henri Troyat, Ali Khan and Rita Hayworth,
the Rotschilds,, Pierre Mendès France, Edgar Faure, François
Mitterrand... |

Megève is a charming
mountain town with unique atmosphere, warm hospitality and country
charm.
One of the traditional old winter holiday
towns, is the
essence of rustic chic. It has a medieval heart
with
a medieval church in the pedestrians centre.
Known as the French alternative to Switzerland's St. Moritz, its
sumptuous hotels and chalets still attract plenty of 'beautiful
people'
looking not just for
skiing but atmosphere and ambience, which Megève has in abundance. |
